About the park
Sapi Safari Area covers about 1,180 km² of Zambezi floodplain and valley woodland immediately east of Mana Pools, and forms part of the Mana Pools, Sapi and Chewore World Heritage Site. It is visited mainly through private tented camps and photographic safaris, and fishing from motorboats on the Zambezi is permitted here, unlike in Mana Pools. The game is much the same as Mana's: elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and painted dogs, with hippos and crocodiles in the river. Access is as for Mana Pools, through Marongora, and the area closes from December to April.
