About the park
Okonjima is a 22,000 ha private reserve at the foot of the Omboroko Mountains in the Otjozondjupa Region, about two and a half hours' drive from Windhoek on the way to Etosha. It is home to the AfriCat Foundation, whose long-running leopard, pangolin and brown hyena research shapes what you do here: tracking leopard, searching for pangolin, and early-morning and night drives. White rhino also live on the reserve. Stays range from campsites through Plains Camp and the Luxury Bush Camp to a private villa. The reserve takes staying guests only, with no day visitors, and it is malaria-free.
