About the park
Bubye Valley Conservancy covers some 3,400 km² of former LEMCO cattle-ranch land in southern Zimbabwe, turned into a wildlife area by private investors. It is best known for a very large lion population and one of Africa's biggest black rhino populations, reintroduced from 2002 with the Lowveld Rhino Trust. Revenue comes mainly from trophy hunting, with lodge-based visits such as Samanyanga Lodge. There is no public self-drive access.
