Exclusive-use campsite run by Sian Simba River Lodge on the old ZimParks fishing-camp site, 35 km up the Zambezi from the Falls.
A former public fishing camp that now survives as a private, one-party campsite beside a tented lodge on a quiet reach of the upper Zambezi. It suits self-drive anglers and families who want river frontage to themselves with lodge activities on hand.
This riverbank campsite sits where the Sian Simba river meets the Zambezi, on the spot that was once one of Zambezi National Park's three public fishing camps and is now part of the Sian Simba River Lodge concession. It is let to one party at a time, so you have the river frontage to yourselves while the tented lodge next door offers fishing trips, walking safaris and help launching your boat, and can provide tents and bedding if you arrive without. Expect a remote stretch of the upper Zambezi, about 35 km from Victoria Falls, where the evening view takes in the river and the pan beside the lodge. Rates are by enquiry and must be booked ahead with the lodge.
