Park conservation fees are extra, paid at the gate.
A private wilderness pitch over a gorge of the Runde, close to the Chipinda Pools gate. A good first or last night for self-sufficient 4x4 travellers.
Runde Gorge is a wilderness site on the Runde River where it cuts through a rocky gorge downstream of Chipinda Pools, the park's main northern entrance. The draw is the river view from a site you have entirely to yourselves, and it is close enough to the gate to make an easy first or last night, while the Chilojo Cliffs are a long morning's drive further east. Reaching it means park dirt roads and river-country tracks, so a high-clearance 4x4 is the vehicle for it. Facilities are a fire pit and long-drop only: bring all water, buy firewood at the gate, and be in camp before the evening curfew.
