About
Gosho Park is a 340-hectare game-fenced reserve run by the Peterhouse schools, and its Bush Camp, built by Peterhouse schoolboys and builders in the 1980s, lets a small number of campers stay overnight inside it. The park covers Brachystegia woodland, two streams with their grassland and rocky outcrops, some carrying San (Bushman) paintings, and you explore it on foot along marked trails among giraffe, zebra, eland, kudu, wildebeest and smaller antelope. Birders come for the miombo specials such as spotted creeper and rufous-bellied tit. Weekends bring local families and school groups to the picnic sites, so midweek is quieter. Camping is limited and must be booked ahead through the school.
