About
Corner Pan Platform is a two-storey hide built on the main water source in Kazuma Pan, and staying here means sleeping right over the action. The roofed upper deck is enclosed in steel mesh and has beds, so you can spend whole days and nights watching the solar-pumped trough and the pan it feeds, where elephants, giraffe, zebra, roan, tsessebe and kudu come to drink and waterbirds crowd the pan after rain. Evenings are spent by the fire below the deck, still looking over the water. Access is 4x4 only, on rough tracks via Pandamatenga or the newer road from the Victoria Falls side, with a detour to report at the park office first. It is priced per site for up to six people, which makes it costly for a couple; bring all food, drink and fuel.

Getting there
4x4 only: rough, stony and sandy tracks, with black clay that turns to mud in the rains. Allow about four hours from Victoria Falls via Matetsi and Pandamatenga. You must first report to the park office, which can mean a detour of about 50 km.
From Victoria Falls take the Bulawayo road to the Pandamatenga/Robins turn-off and follow the gravel road through Matetsi to the Pandamatenga border post, then the border road north-west into the park; a newer road leaving the Bulawayo road past Victoria Falls airport also reaches the park office. Report to the park office before going to camp. Access via Kazungula is not allowed.
