An exclusive-use camp opposite the Chilojo Cliffs, the most famous view in Gonarezhou. Private and wild, with elephants in the riverbed below.
Chilojo 2 is one of a pair of exclusive-use camps on the Runde River opposite the Chilojo Cliffs, the band of red and cream sandstone that rises about 180 m above the river and runs for some 20 km along its south bank. Each is booked to a single party, and the draw is the view: the cliffs light up at sunrise and again at sunset, while elephants wander the wide sandy riverbed below them. Nights by the fire carry the calls of hippo, hyena and at times lion. Its twin, Chilojo 1, sits about 130 m away and is booked separately, so another party may be next door. The camp is about two hours on gravel from Chipinda Pools, on the main road to the cliffs, and is completely self-sufficient: bring all water, food and firewood.

Maintained gravel primary road from Chipinda Pools; a high-clearance vehicle is needed in the dry season and a high-clearance 4x4 in the wet season. Speed limit 40 km/h; no driving at night.
Enter at Chipinda Pools gate (from Chiredzi via the Ngundu-Tanganda road, about an hour), then follow the main road east along the Runde to the Chilojo Cliffs, about 37 km and roughly 2 hours.
