Community camp
Community campground in northern Liuwa Plain near the Miyanda pools, in the part of the park where lions are seen most.
Park conservation fees are extra, paid at the gate.
A quiet community campground in Liuwa's north, near the Miyanda pools and the park's best lion country. Long sandy drive from Kalabo; fully self-catering.
Mukalabumbu is the base for Liuwa's quieter north, a community campground between Katoyana and the remote Sikale. The northern plains are where the park's reintroduced lions are seen most often, and the Miyanda pools, about 4 km south-east of camp, are a magnet for waterbirds and game. It is three to four hours from Kalabo on sandy tracks that need a high-clearance 4x4. Bring all drinking water and firewood from Kalabo, and allow time to reach camp before dark.
