Community camp
Shaded community campground in southern Liuwa Plain, the quickest to reach from Kalabo and the buffalo end of the park.
Park conservation fees are extra, paid at the gate.
The most accessible of Liuwa's community campgrounds, in the buffalo country of the south. A shaded, self-catering base for a first night in the park.
Kwale is the southern camp of Liuwa's five community campgrounds and the closest to Kalabo, about 75 minutes' drive into the park. The south is where buffalo herds are seen most often, and later in the dry season the area around a landmark sausage tree draws a steady stream of plains game. The camp itself is shaded and good for birders, a calm base for an early first night after the long road from Mongu. Access is by high-clearance 4x4 on sandy park tracks. Everything, including drinking water and firewood, has to come in with you from Kalabo.
