About
Kamukonzo is a community-run campsite on the bank of the Luangwa River, about 7 km from the northern entrance of Luambe National Park, a small, little-visited park on the valley route between South and North Luangwa. It is a place for self-drivers crossing the valley who want a night on the river away from the busy Mfuwe camps, with game drives and birding in Luambe the main things to do. Luambe is roughly four hours' drive from Mfuwe on rough valley roads that call for a capable 4x4, and few people pass this way. Come fully self-sufficient and confirm the camp is staffed before setting out.
