A small campsite beside a 1912 farmhouse on a fourth-generation family sheep farm north of Grünau. It is valued as an easy overnight stop on the B1, made memorable by farm-raised lamb and the house's history.
The White House is a German colonial farmhouse built from 1912 on the 15,000-hectare farm Mickberg, abandoned in the First World War and run by the de Wet family, now in its fourth generation, as a guest farm since 1998. Its handful of camp stands make a relaxed one-night stop on the long B1 run between the Orange River and Keetmanshoop, and many campers book the farm's lamb dinner or a braai pack, delivered to the site at dusk, then sit out under wide southern skies and bright stars. With a spare day you can hunt for the tiny Lithops succulents unique to the farm or visit its rose-quartz mine. The camp is small, so book ahead, and farm trips must be arranged well in advance.

Directly off the tarred B1; the farm says no 4x4 is needed for any of its accommodation.
On the B1, about 11 km north of Grünau towards Keetmanshoop. GPS S27 36.383 E18 23.843. About 115 km from Fish River Canyon and 125 km from Ai-Ais.
