Wêreldend Mountain

About

Wêreldend means 'world's end' in Afrikaans, and the name fits: this is a remote desert farm on the C27 between Betta and Sesriem, with the NamibRand reserve next door and the Namib dunes running up to the farm's western side. The bush camp sits in the hills a couple of kilometres north of the farmhouse, so evenings are quiet, dark and starlit, with only the farm and the mountains around you. The farming couple run it themselves, and the hills behind camp are there to be walked. Expect a simple, self-sufficient stay: bring food, fuel and supplies from Betta, the nearest shop and fuel stop about 40 km away, and arrange your visit with the farm before you arrive.

Getting there

C27 is a gravel road; the last stretch is a farm track.

On farm Wêreldend, off the C27 gravel road roughly 40-45 km northwest of Betta (the road towards Sesriem). The farm turn-off leads about 5 km to the farmhouse; the bush camp lies on a farm track roughly 2 km north of it.
