About
The campsite sits on a rise at the entrance to the Waterberg valley, near the reception of the private Waterberg Wilderness reserve. Its 16 pitches on red Kalahari sand are screened from each other by bush and trees, a viewpoint looks out over the bush savannah, and some pitches see the plateau's steep sandstone cliffs. Guided plateau hikes and rhino drives start nearby, and there are free self-guided nature trails. Plan to self-cater, as the lodge restaurant takes campers only when it has space. The gate closes at 19:00, and a 4x4 is recommended in the rainy season.
