About
Not a campsite: Uri Camp is a private overnight camp in the coastal dune belt south of Walvis Bay, run by the Walvis Bay operator Uri Adventures and used on guided multi-day 4x4 trips such as the Lüderitz to Walvis Bay dune trail. Groups reach it after a day of beach driving from Conception Bay past the wrecks of the Eduard Bohlen and Shawnee, turning back into the dunes around the salt pans of Sandwich Harbour for the night. The final morning runs over the big roaring slip faces known as the Roller Coaster before the beach drive into Walvis Bay. There is no way to book a pitch here independently: the only way to stay is on one of these guided trips, which need a capable 4x4 on high-flotation tyres.
- Night in the dunes close to the Atlantic near Sandwich Harbour
- Beach drive past the Eduard Bohlen and Shawnee wrecks
- Roller Coaster slip faces on the last morning
