About
Tinkas is one of the remote wild camps in the northern Namib section of the Namib-Naukluft Park, set among small rocky koppies inland from Swakopmund near an old dam. There is no reception, staff or facilities, so bring all water, food, firewood and equipment and take your rubbish out. Sites cannot be reserved and are taken first come, first served, but a park permit must be bought in person in advance from a ministry office in Swakopmund, Walvis Bay or Sesriem. It suits self-sufficient travellers after solitude on the Bloedkoppie-Tinkas tracks.
