A small camping area at the Elegant Desert Lodge (formerly Betesda Lodge), on the edge of the Namib-Naukluft Park among gravel plains, inselbergs and the Tsaris Mountains. Campers share an ablution block, and the lodge itself is close at hand for a meal or a drink. It sits 5 km along the D854 from the C19 and about 38 km from Sesriem, so the dunes at Sossusvlei are an early-morning drive away. A quieter, cheaper alternative to camping at Sesriem itself.
