A convenient, shaded stop right at Solitaire, with fuel and food a short walk away and good dark skies. It is more of a practical overnight than a scenic destination.
The camp sits between the Solitaire roadhouse and the settlement's airstrip, at the lonely desert crossroads that most travellers pass on the way to or from Sossusvlei. Sites are spacious and shaded, and the lighting is deliberately shielded so the desert night sky stays dark. Fuel, a shop and food are a few steps away, which makes it an easy, unhurried overnight stop. Walk-ins are welcome, and bookings go through the Solitaire General Dealer by phone.
