Camping beside a stone hotel built in 1896 for the Schutztruppe, tucked in the Fish River hills off the Keetmanshoop to Lüderitz road.
A historic stone hotel at an almost deserted railway junction, with camping on the grounds and the hotel bar and dining room a few steps away. Best as a quiet overnight stop on the road between Keetmanshoop, Fish River Canyon and Lüderitz.
Seeheim's hotel was built from local rock in 1896 for German colonial troops, served the railway junction for decades, closed when the main road moved away in 1974 and reopened after thirty empty years. The settlement is now little more than the hotel and the old station, so evenings are quiet: a drink in the stone-walled bar hung with trophies, dinner in the dining room, bare rocky hills all round. The hotel hides in a dip above the Fish River, out of sight of the B4, with a riverside walk about a kilometre away. It is 1 km of gravel off the tar, 45 km west of Keetmanshoop, and most campers treat it as a one-night stop between Fish River Canyon and Lüderitz. The buildings are old and upkeep varies, so ask whether the pool is filled.

Tar to the turn-off, then about 1 km of gravel to the hotel.
About 45 km west of Keetmanshoop on the B4 towards Lüderitz; turn off at Seeheim and follow the gravel access road about 1 km to the hotel by the old railway station.
