About
Rainbow River's campsite runs along the bank of the Okavango at Divundu, just upstream of Popa Falls, with pitches on lawn under a canopy of large riverine trees facing the water. Campers share the river bank with hippos, and the lodge's sundowner cruises towards Popa Falls regularly pass pods of hippo, crocodiles and sometimes elephants. Days can go to tigerfish angling, birding along the river, or self-drives into the Mahango and Buffalo areas of Bwabwata National Park a short distance away. It is a popular overnight on the Caprivi route and overland tour trucks use it too, so it can be busy and lively at times. Some pitches are not level and sit a fair walk from the ablutions, so pick your spot when you arrive.
