A remote riverside community camp at the head of the Marienfluss Valley under mature trees. It suits well-equipped 4x4 travellers.
Okarohombo is a community-run camp at the head of the Marienfluss Valley, where it opens onto the Kunene River, about 230 km from Opuwo. Its five large sandy sites sit under mature trees near the river, and the valley can only be reached by 4x4. Firewood is very scarce, so bring your own or cook on gas, and take care near the water because of crocodiles. There is no fixed booking system; most travellers simply arrive and pay on site.
