About
Oerwald is the outlying campsite of Tsauchab River Camp, set well away from the farm's other sites in the bed of the Tsauchab River, in the wide valley between the Naukluft and Tsaris mountains. It sits under giant wild fig trees, part of what the farm describes as the densest stand of these figs in Namibia, and water runs over the rocks into small pools beside the camp. Days are for the farm's walking trails, from the short wild fig stroll past natural springs to the 21 km Mountain Zebra hike into the Tsaris Mountains, or for the Klipspringer 4x4 trail and its sundowner viewpoints. Bookings and directions go through Tsauchab River Camp's reception near the D854 and D850 junction, about 70 km from Sesriem; ask about the farm track when booking and come fully self-sufficient.
