- Water: treat before drinking
A genuinely special spot on the Okavango, with hippos and elephants in view and a playful character most visitors love. Some find the facilities tired, the meals inconsistent and the road in bumpy.
About
Ngepi stretches along the Okavango River near Divundu, with most pitches on grass right at the water's edge and three more secluded bush sites under big trees. Hippos and elephants are regularly seen from the bank, and the camp runs boat and mokoro trips, fishing and its own hippo and crocodile cage dive. The atmosphere is relaxed and full of humour, from the tree houses to the theatrical open-air ablutions. The last 4 km is a gravel road suitable for 2WD, and Mahango and Popa Falls are close.
