Off-grid desert campsite at Namib's Valley Lodge, overlooking the Gaub Valley with views of the Gamsberg.
An off-grid campsite at a desert lodge overlooking the Gaub Valley, with private ablutions and views toward the Gamsberg. It suits travellers who want dark skies between Windhoek and Sossusvlei.
The campsite belongs to Namib's Valley Lodge, which overlooks the Gaub Valley among hills roughly midway between Windhoek, Swakopmund and Sossusvlei, with the Gamsberg in view. Sites are deliberately off-grid, each with its own ablution and a fire pit, and the lack of lights makes for big night skies. It is about 50 km to the nearest shops and fuel, so arrive stocked up. It suits self-drivers crossing the escarpment who want a quiet night in desert scenery.
