Unfenced Damaraland camp on the Goantagab Riverbed among granite boulders, with private riverbed sites and a rock pool bar.
A riverbed camp among granite boulders in unfenced Damaraland country, with well-separated private sites. It suits travellers between Uis and Twyfelfontein who want a scenic stop.
Madisa lies on the Goantagab Riverbed in the Sorris Sorris Conservancy, among granite boulders and mopane trees in unfenced country where wildlife can wander through. It is run by Whipps Wilderness Safaris in partnership with the conservancy. The nine private sites are spread along the riverbed, each with its own raised bathroom, while five overland sites suit groups and sit near the bar and rock pool. The camp is 18 km down the D2612 off the C35 between Uis and Khorixas, on corrugated gravel a 2x4 can manage; arrive before dark. Power is solar and limited, so bring power banks and drinking water.
