About
Groot Tinkas is a set of remote wild pitches in the gravel-plain country of the northern Namib-Naukluft Park, tucked among small rocky koppies close to an old walled dam. There is no reception or staff, so arrive fully self-sufficient with all water, food and firewood, and take your rubbish out. Sites cannot be reserved, but a park permit must be bought in person beforehand. It suits experienced desert travellers looking for solitude on the Bloedkoppie and Tinkas tracks.
