Gobabeb's Kuiseb Camp sits on the bank of the ephemeral Kuiseb River beside a working desert research station, with tall riverine trees between the bare gravel plains and the first dunes of the Namib Sand Sea. Pitch your own tent or rent one with bedding, order meals from the station kitchen, and join a station tour, nature walk or night walk to meet the Namib's small creatures and the night sky. Space is limited, so book well ahead, and arrange a park permit beforehand; the station lies deep in the park on long gravel roads.
