About
Donkerhoek is a private desert farm north of Solitaire at the foot of the Spreetshoogte Pass, best known for the Donkerhoek Desert Trails: well over 100 km of mountain-bike routes, much of it natural singletrack through Namib scenery. The farm keeps a campsite for riders and other outdoor travellers, but the land is private and access is by arrangement with the owner, so make contact before you come. Solitaire, the nearest place for fuel and food, is about 30 km away.
