Lodge camping
Lodge campground on the Skeleton Coast road at Cape Cross, close to the seal colony and popular with anglers.
A well-organised lodge campground on the Skeleton Coast close to the Cape Cross seal colony. It is a good stop for anglers and for breaking the drive up the coast.
The campground belongs to Cape Cross Lodge on the C34, about 60 km north of Henties Bay on the bare Skeleton Coast. Each of the 21 sites is self-contained with its own braai, light and wash-up counter, and campers can use the lodge's bar, restaurant and small museum. Freezing and fish-cleaning facilities make it a favourite with surf anglers, and the lodge sells ice, bread, wood and limited fuel. The Cape Cross seal colony is a short drive or walk away, after entry formalities at the ministry office.
