A small, long-established camp on the Kunene River at the far end of the Marienfluss Valley. It suits well-equipped 4x4 travellers who want river and mountain scenery far from anywhere.
Camp Syncro sits on the southern bank of the Kunene River in the Marienfluss Valley, deep in Kaokoland Himba country, and is only reachable by 4x4. It is a small, low-key place with six campsites and two simple self-catering bungalows, run by an owner who has lived in the valley since 1991; the appeal is the sound of the river and the mountains around the valley. There is no internet, and drinks and fresh bread are limited, so arrive well stocked; the camp keeps a little fuel and can help with tyre repairs.
