A small group of campsites on a private game farm north of Tsumeb, set around a big marula tree with plains game on the property. It suits travellers heading to or from Etosha who want a quiet farm night, provided they are comfortable on a hunting farm.
Gorooab is a private game farm on the Tsintsabis road north of Tsumeb, best known for rifle, bow and bird hunting, which also keeps six named campsites for independent travellers. The sites are grouped around a large marula tree among makalani palms, and the farm carries kudu, eland, oryx, Hartmann's zebra, nyala and other plains game. The lodge welcomes birders, photographers and stargazers as well as hunters, and can arrange outings to Etosha. From Tsumeb it is a 65 km drive, about 500 km from Windhoek. Bear in mind that this is a working hunting farm, with the main hunting season from May to September.
