About
Pitches are scattered around Bloedkoppie (Blutkuppe), a lone granite dome rising out of the gravel plains of the central Namib about 105 km inland from Swakopmund, with a few more sheltered spots under trees in the sandy watercourse behind it. Scrambling up the rock at sunset gives huge views over empty desert, and it is the start of the Bloedkoppie-Tinkas 4x4 route. There are no staff and no water, so bring everything, and arrange the park permit in advance.
