About
Sites are spread along the shaded banks of the seasonal Aba-Huab River, in the rocky Damaraland valley that leads to Twyfelfontein. Desert-adapted elephants occasionally move along the riverbed. It is a long-standing, simple community camp and a practical base for the rock engravings, Burnt Mountain, the Organ Pipes and the Petrified Forest; local guides lead visits and riverbed walks, and traditional dancing can be arranged. Fuel is about 3 km away, but bring food. Rates are given only on request, so ask when you phone.
