A simple family-run tented camp and caravan park that works as an overnight stop on the edge of Kanye. Its hosts are the main draw rather than the setting.
About
Wena is a modest, family-run stop on the edge of Kanye, the old hill town of the Bangwaketse, with six en-suite safari tents beside a camping ground and a small event venue. There is little else to choose from in Kanye, so it mostly serves as an overnight halt for self-drivers heading west along the Trans-Kalahari Highway or north from the South African border. Visitors tend to describe it as simple and serviceable rather than memorable, and the warmth and helpfulness of the staff is what they mention most. Fuel and groceries are a short drive away in town. Contact details and plot numbers differ between pages, so phone ahead before relying on a pitch.
