A simple, warm village camp whose sunset view over the floodplain makes the evenings, with the river, hippos and Enclave village life on the doorstep. A practical overnight on the road between Ngoma and Savuti as much as a destination.
A small campsite run by a local family in Kavimba village in the Chobe Enclave, set on open grass above the Chobe floodplain with Namibia across the water. Evenings centre on the fire as the sun drops over the floodplain in front of the pitches, with hippos and zebra often seen from camp and the hosts happy to share local tips. Beyond a game drive or boat cruise in Chobe National Park, the camp arranges canoeing, fishing, walks and visits to the village, which gives a feel for life in the Enclave that park camps lack. It sits right on the road west from the Ngoma Bridge border towards Kachikau and Savuti, so it works well as a night before or after the long drive south. Hippos and crocodiles use the river, so take care at the water's edge.
