A lone wilderness pitch beside Qwee Pan, a seasonal clay pan in the empty south-central Central Kalahari, far from the busy northern loops.
Qwee Pan is a single wilderness pitch beside a seasonal clay pan in the south-central part of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, roughly between Xade Gate and the southern reserve boundary. It is one of the reserve's least visited corners: few vehicles come this far south, so a night here is likely to be spent entirely alone under a wide Kalahari sky. Game is thinner in the south than around the northern pans, so it suits travellers crossing the reserve slowly rather than those chasing sightings. Reaching it takes long days on deep sand by 4x4, and you must carry all water, fuel and firewood and hold a confirmed booking before entering.

Deep sand tracks throughout; 4x4 compulsory and the reserve requires full self-sufficiency. Speed limit 40 km/h, no night driving or off-track driving.
