Quirky lodge and campsite among giant baobabs near Gweta, a classic base for meerkats and the Ntwetwe Pan.
A fun, characterful camp among giant baobabs that doubles as the launch point for meerkat and salt-pan trips. Its small, shaded campsite shares in the lodge's relaxed social life, which makes it more than a roadside stop.
Planet Baobab is a colourful, offbeat lodge on the edge of the Makgadikgadi near Gweta village, ringed by giant baobab trees. The campsite is small, with six public pitches plus separate overland sites, each with its own thatched shade hut, and campers share the big pool, bar and restaurant. Trips run onto Ntwetwe Pan for habituated meerkats, quad biking and dry-season sleep-outs. It is reached on tar, about 100 km west of Nata, so any car can get there.

Next to Gweta village off the Nata-Maun road, about 100 km west of Nata and 200 km east of Maun; look for the giant aardvark sign beside the road.
