About
Name Pan is the camping stop nearer Zutshwa on the transit track to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park's Kaa Gate, on KD2 community land run by the Qhaa Qhing Conservation Trust. Two bare sites sit by the pan with nothing laid on, so a night here is about open Kalahari and quiet, with antelope grazing along this stretch of the route. It suits self-sufficient 4x4 travellers who want to break the drive to or from Kaa, or spend a night outside the park. Bring all water and supplies, expect a heavily corrugated track (a smoother cutline runs to the north), and pay at the self-service permit station in Zutshwa before setting off.
