Two remote, unfenced pitches on the western edge of Mpayathutlwa Pan in Mabuasehube, the quiet eastern corner of the Kgalagadi.
Mpayathutlwa is one of the pan-side camps in the Mabuasehube section of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, with two pitches and a reserve site on the western side of the pan, about 18 km from the gate. The camp is unfenced and lions have been reported passing through, so take care after dark. Shelter is basic and any water on offer is brackish, so bring all drinking water, fuel and food: the nearest fuel is roughly 100 km away. The approach is soft Kalahari sand, so a 4x4 with recovery gear is needed.

Mabuasehube tracks are soft, powdery Kalahari sand with dunes; deflate tyres, carry recovery gear and do not drive after dark. The Nossob to Mabuasehube wilderness trail took one party about 9.5 hours.
