Not a campsite: Mopiri is a luxury tented lodge with seven tents on the western shore of Weboro Lagoon, plus three family units on a nearby island, and it has no pitches for travellers with their own tent. The lagoon holds deep water all year, so days are spent on the water: motorboat and mokoro trips through papyrus channels, catch-and-release fishing from March to December, walks on palm islands and sunset cruises on a houseboat. Self-drivers leave their vehicle in secure parking at Etsha 6, about 290 km from Maun, and a guide takes them across by boat; others fly in from Maun in under 40 minutes. Stays are fully inclusive and booked ahead through the operator.
