A private, single-party wilderness site deep in the Central Kalahari, bookable by self-drive visitors through Bigfoot Tours. Total self-sufficiency is the price of having the area to yourself.
One private campsite on the Letiahau loop in the south of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, run by the private operator Bigfoot Tours rather than the parks department. Self-drive visitors can book it, and it takes up to six people in three vehicles. It is a true wilderness site with some shade and nothing else, in unfenced country where lion and other predators move through at night. Bring all water, fuel and firewood, and pay park entry fees separately.
