A small, well-spaced riverside camp in the Khwai concession where wildlife moves freely through the sites. It suits self-sufficient 4x4 travellers wanting a calmer base than the larger community camps.
Khwai Safari Grounds strings its sites along the Mbudi River under old acacia trees, in the wildlife-rich Khwai concession bordering Moremi Game Reserve. The pitches are large and well spaced, so it feels more private than the bigger community camps nearby, and game often wanders through. The same operator runs mokoro trips and mobile safaris. Getting here takes about four hours from Maun in a 4x4, and the nearest real shopping is back in Maun, so arrive fully stocked.

Self-drive only in a 4x4; drive time from Maun depends on road conditions. Road transfers from Maun and fly-in via Khwai airstrip can be arranged.
Signed turn-off from the main Khwai road about 2.5 km east of Mbudi Campsite, then roughly 2 km of sandy track to reception. Allow about four hours' drive from Maun.
