Bush camp
Ten wilderness pitches around Khutse Pan, the closest camping to Khutse's entrance gate, with waterholes on the pan.
Park conservation fees are extra, paid at the gate.
Khutse Pan offers simple, unfenced pitches beside a game-drawing pan right at the start of Khutse Game Reserve. It suits self-sufficient 4x4 campers who want an easy first night in the Kalahari with a waterhole close by.
Khutse Pan is really two adjoining pans in the north of Khutse Game Reserve, and its ten scattered pitches are the nearest camping to the entrance gate, which makes them a natural first or last night. A waterhole on the pan's edge can be driven right up to and draws antelope and birds, with lion or cheetah at times, while a second waterhole lies out in the middle of the pan; lions and elephants sometimes pass through camp. There is no fuel, food or water in the reserve, so arrive fully self-sufficient in a capable 4x4.
