Bush camp
Two unfenced DWNP pitches beside Kaa Gate, the remote northern entrance to the Botswana Kgalagadi, with a waterhole nearby.
A basic two-pitch stopover at the remote northern gate of the Botswana Kgalagadi, used as the start or end of the Kaa and Polentswa 4x4 routes. Its draw is the nearby waterhole and the sense of being at the far end of the park.
Kaa sits at the park's northern boundary, the only way in to the Kaa trails and the Polentswa Wilderness Trail, and its two pitches make the natural first or last night on those routes. An artificial waterhole a couple of hundred metres away draws game, lions included, and nothing fences the camp off from them. Getting here means a long sandy drive from Hukuntsi through the community areas around Zutshwa, so come with a capable 4x4, full fuel and supplies, and a confirmed booking.

4x4 only; deep sand from Zutshwa, and the first 20 km of the park track south towards Nossob is sandy and narrow enough to scratch wide vehicles. No fuel at the gate.
From Kang on the Trans-Kalahari Highway take the road to Hukuntsi, then on to Zutshwa (about 60 km). From Zutshwa follow the sandy track through the KD2 community area for roughly 100 km to Kaa Gate; the camp is about 1 km from the gate. A community transit permit for KD2 is bought in Zutshwa.
