Lodge, safari tents and a roomy campsite at the Orapa-Mopipi junction, a stopover on the B300 towards Rakops and Maun.
A friendly lodge-and-camp stop at the Orapa junction, with roomy shaded pitches and a restaurant on hand. It is a convenient base for the pans and the Central Kalahari rather than a destination in itself.
Makumutu is a lodge with safari tents and a campsite just outside the diamond town of Orapa, at the junction where the B300 heads north-west towards Rakops and Maun. Camping is in spacious areas with shaded braai spots, around gardens the lodge is proud of, and the restaurant and bar are open to campers. It suits self-drivers heading for the Makgadikgadi or the Central Kalahari who want an easy tarred-road stop, and pan drives and stargazing can be arranged.
