Family-run camp on the Boteti River beside Makgadikgadi's Khumaga Gate, with a deck over a waterhole that elephants visit.
A family-run camp on the Boteti River right beside the Khumaga entrance to Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. Big, shady sites under camelthorn trees and a deck over an elephant waterhole make it a strong base for the park.
Camelthorn Farmstead sits on the banks of the Boteti River, moments from the Khumaga gate of Makgadikgadi Pans National Park and about 140 km from Maun. Its large sites are spread under camelthorn trees: three private campsites for small parties and two group sites that each take around 20 people. A viewing deck looks over a waterhole that elephants visit, and the camp streams it live. It makes a comfortable base for days in the park, with ready-made tents and cottages for anyone not bringing their own gear.
