The camp ground belongs to the Bahurutshe Cultural Lodge, perched on Nyangane hill above Mmankgodi village about 35 km west of Gaborone and 2 km off the Gaborone-Kanye road. Run with women and youth from the village, it showcases Setswana life: a working kgotla, traditional dance, food tasting and a re-enacted traditional wedding, alongside stone-and-thatch chalets. It suits travellers wanting a cultural night out of the city rather than wildlife. Visits are often arranged for groups, so call ahead to check that camping is available.
